Counseling Enriched

Counseling Enriched classrooms are dual educational and therapeutic classrooms that enable children to learn techniques for self-regulating their emotions and behavior while receiving academic instruction.

The program is embedded within district Counseling Enriched classroom settings, providing a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach to student success by seamlessly integrating intensive therapeutic and rehabilitative services directly into the academic environment. By uniting special education and mainstream teachers with mental health therapists, behavioral coaches, and licensed psychiatrists, the program delivers a coordinated intervention strategy designed to maximize mainstreaming, inclusion, and graduation rates.

Annually, over 70 children receive these intensive behavioral health services from EBAC at 5 school sites in the Alameda Unified School District.
