EPIC is a social-emotional readiness program designed to help young children in Transitional Kindergarten (TK) and Kindergarten develop essential social skills, emotional expression, and emotional regulation. By fostering these foundational abilities, EPIC empowers children to thrive in a school environment from an early age, setting the stage for success both in school and throughout their lifelong learning journey. EPIC also encourages and works closely with caregivers, school administrators, and teachers to learn strategies to support the student’s individual learning style. EPIC operates on site in pre-school, T-K or Kindergarten classrooms, providing individual, group, and family therapy in addition to in-classroom and milieu rehabilitation services. A core element of the EPIC model is close collaboration with caregivers, site staff, and other service providers to help youth build and sustain essential life skills. When needed, the program also integrates Occupational Therapy and Psychiatric support to ensure comprehensive, individualized care. To be eligible for EPIC services, a child must be enrolled at one of EPIC’s partner school sites and have full-scope Medi-Cal. For the 2025-2026 school year, EPIC has partnered with Laurel Elementary, Sankofa Elementary, Bella Vista Elementary, Sequoia Elementary, Highland Community School, and Cabrillo Elementary. For questions or more information about bringing EPIC to your school site please contact Poonam.Chokshi@EBAC.org or refer to these Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs).
