Specialized Therapeutic and Educational Services

EBAC provides individual counseling and education services for children ages two to 14 who demonstrate severe emotional, behavioral, and/or learning problems. These children, often the victims of abuse, neglect, and/or prenatal drug exposure, receive age appropriate mental health and academic services at five sites in East Bay communities. The Oakland, Lafayette and Sequoia Day Treatment schools serve elementary school age children; the New Haven Day Treatment in Union City serves middle school age children, and the Therapeutic Nursery School (TNS) works exclusively with preschoolers ages two to five.

At TNS we start by helping preschoolers with severe emotional and behavioral challenges that prevent them from succeeding in a mainstream daycare or preschool setting. Older school children who have missed such early intervention, receive individualized educational and counseling services in our Day Treatment programs located in Oakland, Lafayette (web info coming soon), Sequoia (web info coming soon) and Union City. Support groups and counseling are also offered to their families.
