Fremont Healthy Start

Fremont Healthy Start (FHS) began operations in 1992. FHS serves all the schools in the Fremont Unified School District (FUSD) and is based at Grimmer Elementary and at the Fremont Family Resource Center. Services are also provided out of Brier Elementary and Cabrillo Elementary.

Services include:

• Information and referral for child support, child care, housing, mental health etc;
• Translation and Interpretation;
• Vision and dental care;
• Physical exams and immunizations;
• Health insurance enrollment, education and outreach (Medi-Cal, Cal Kids, Healthy Families, Kaiser Cares for Kids);
• Emergency food and clothing;
• Case management
• Public assistance application completion
• Assistance with school enrollment process

FHS collaborates with over thirty other Fremont agencies including Tri-City Health Center, Washington Hospital, FUSD Pupil Services, City of Fremont, and Fremont Youth Soccer League. FHS staff is multi-lingual and multi-cultural. Combined they speak seven different languages (English, Spanish, Korean, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Farsi, Pashtu) and represent seven countries. All services are provided in a culturally and linguistically appropriate manner.

• Delaware intersects Newport Dr. School is on the left.
• Drive into school parking lot and FHS Family Support Center Portable is at the end of the lot.

• Exit onto Washington Blvd.
• Bear right onto Washington Blvd.
• Turn left onto Fremont Blvd.
• Turn left onto Delaware.
• Delaware intersects Newport Dr. School is on the left.
• Drive into school parking lot and FHS Family Support Center Portable is at the end of the lot.
