BI-LINGUAL (DARI/FARSI-ENGLISH) PREVENTION EDUCATOR

East Bay Agency for Children (EBAC) is dedicated to the health and educational well-being of children and families through specialized therapeutic, educational and peer support services.

With a staff of 150 and 200 volunteers, we serve 19, 000 children, youth and families via 13 primarily school based programs throughout Alameda County

EBAC is currently seeking a customer service driven Bi-lingual (Dari/Farsi-English Prevention Educator in its Child Assault Prevention Training Center in Hayward. This position is 30 to 40 hours per week.

  • The Prevention Educator is responsible for the implementation of violence prevention programs in Alameda County schools and the community. Serves as a liaison between the CAP Training Center and the communities served.
  • Provide violence prevention and positive parenting programs to children, youth and adults in schools and in the Afghan community.
  • Provide presentations to community groups, businesses, and other youth-serving organizations in the Afghan community.
  • Documents all service delivery, prepares reports, and assists with the training of interns and volunteers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • B.A. in social work, psychology or related field or equivalent combination of experience and training
  • Two year’s demonstrated experience working in school settings, public speaking, program planning and evaluation
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse communities.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work independently.
  • Excellent organizational, written/oral skills; strong computer skills.
  • Fluency in Dari/Farsi and English is required.
