Grant Writer Volunteer / Intern
East Bay Agency for Children (EBAC) is looking for a college student (junior or senior) or graduate student interested in an internship, or someone who is looking for an excellent opportunity to volunteer your skills and talents to a visionary nonprofit. EBAC dedicated to bringing health, hope and opportunity to more than 19,000 children and families in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties each year. Our thirteen programs provide therapeutic support for children who have suffered from abuse and neglect, prepare children to succeed in school, and help to strengthen families and communities (www.ebac.org).
We are looking for a volunteer/intern who is interested in joining an exciting development team and assist us in researching, preparing, and submitting proposals and letters of intent to foundations, governmental agencies and corporations. This position requires a minimum commitment of 12 hours per week for 6 months. An ideal person for this position would have experience in research and able to write clearly for the foundation world. S/he would also be good at drawing out the philosophical distinctions between different foundations and able to take initiative in doing the work on her/his own and also able to work as a team member. Desired skills include strong writing ability, knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, clear communication skills, and detailed-oriented. We need someone who is able to work from the EBAC office located in Oakland, CA.
