CLINICAL PROGRAM COORDINATOR – CIRCLE OF CARE/PALS
East Bay Agency for Children (EBAC) is dedicated to the health and educational well being of children and families through specialized therapeutic, educational and peer support services.
With a staff of 150 and 200 volunteers, we serve19,000 children, youth and families via 13 primarily school based programs throughout Alameda County.
We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the following position:
TITLE: Clinical Program Coordinator-Circle of Care/PALS
ACCOUNTABILITY: Assistant Director
A. FUNCTION
The Clinical Program Coordinator develops, coordinates and supervises the practicum/internship program and individual and family counseling components of Circle of Care/PALS Support Services which include school based mental health services, illness grief and trauma focused counseling services, and community crisis response services. Oversees clinical files and supervision of trainees and interns. Manages and/or provides individual, group supervision, and training of practicum trainees and interns. Oversees and manages EPSDT (MediCal) school-based clinical work. Provides training for MFT & MSW trainees and interns and acts as liaison to other supervisors and school-based contacts both in our Oakland Unified public school sites and with graduate school program contacts.
B. QUALIFICATIONS and COMPETENCY FACTORS
1. LCSW clinical license with a master’s degree in social work
2. Four years experience in individual and group psychotherapy with children and families; two years post licensing experience
3. Three years supervisory and training experience with child and family clinical therapy.
4. Experience with EPSDT charting procedures.
5. Able to keep clear, complete records and charts and manage program productivity goals for supervisees.
6. Able to work cooperatively and independently in a multidisciplinary setting.
7. Language skills that include the ability to read, analyze, and interpret clinical documentation, financial reports and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquires or complaints from parents or agencies. Ability to write that conforms to prescribed style and format. Ability to present information to top management, public groups, or boards of directors.
8. Excellent organizational and administrative skills.
9. Experience and ability in working with diverse populations and high level of cultural awareness and understanding of topics such as institutionalized racism, oppression, privilege, and personal bias..
10. Basic computer competency-ability to use internet-based database, word documents, and email.
11. Ability to work Monday and Tuesday evenings and rare weekends
12. Ability to drive with valid driver's license, auto insurance, and access to use of an automobile as needed.
C. RESPONSIBILITIES (Those with an asterisk are essential duties.)
1. *Develops practicum internship training program and provides clinical oversight and supervision of individual and family clinic counseling and school based service components of Circle of Care/PALS
2 *Recruits, interviews and selects an annual groups of trainee and interns for work in practicum internship program including preparing recruitment materials, attending graduate school fairs, soliciting and reviewing applications and resumes, interviewing and choosing candidates.
2. *Provides clinical and/or administrative supervision to trainees/interns and program staff as needed t and coordinates with collateral supervisors .
3. *Supervises and manages clinical services delivered in school-based settings including EPSDT charting procedures, Utilization Review, compliance and billing goals for program.
4. Provides trainee/intern evaluations to graduate school programs and trainee/intern..
5. Coordinates the referrals, case assignments, treatment, and discharges of all children and families receiving counseling.
6. *Oversees all clinical records, and insures their compliance.
7. *Plans and manages didactic and experiential weekly trainings for trainee/interns and staff including recruitment and contracting of outside presenters..
8. *Maintains relations with practicum student and intern field placement departments, community providers and referral sources, makes referrals when appropriate.
9. Conducts intakes with families as needed.
10. Actively works with cultural awareness issues and sensitivity regarding the children, families, and staff we work with, and communities we work in.
11. Provides onsite support to outside school based and community programs facing crisis situations as needed.
12. Provides back-up and crisis consultation to other clinical staff in the program.
13. Attends clinical supervisors’ monthly meeting and bimonthly staff meetings, professional networking meetings, and other community based meetings as needed.
14. Provides ongoing outreach about Circle of Care/PALS services to the community, hospitals, funeral homes, etc to insure client base,
15. Assists in production of program newsletter, brochures, and outreach materials.
16. Monitors, tracks, and reports to directors regarding evaluation and outcome data for grants and county contracts.
17. Assists directors with fundraising activities as needed.
18. Performs other duties as assigned.
D. WORKING CONDITIONS and JOB SETTING
1. Work is in an office on the second floor of a two-story building with stairs that need to be climbed for access to the second floor. Work is primarily in a routine office setting.
2. Because work is sometimes directly with children, full mobility is required for standing, walking, and sitting.
3. Some work is in disenfranchised, underserved school settings, with broken windows as an example, and with high noise levels at times. Some families visited have histories of violence.
4. Periodic lifting up to 10 pounds is required.
5. Driving is required.
