Clinical Coordinator – Day Treatment (0.5 FTE)

East Bay Agency for Children (EBAC) is dedicated to the health and educational well-being of children and families through specialized therapeutic, educational and peer support services.

With a staff of 150 and 200 volunteers, we serve19,000 children, youth and families via 13 primarily school based programs throughout Alameda County

We are currently seeking qualified candidates for the following position:

TITLE: Clinical Coordinator – Day Treatment (0.5 FTE)

ACCOUNTABILITY: Oakland Day Treatment Program Director


A. FUNCTION

The Clinical Coordinator plans, develops, directs and conducts the clinical supervision of clinical staff and interns/trainees working in the assigned Day Treatment Programs and Counseling Enriched classrooms. The Clinical Coordinator provides on-site individual and group supervision of staff/interns/trainees, maintains relationships with graduate school personnel in support of interns/trainees, reviews and monitors clinical charts and electronic health records, participates in internal and county-wide audits, collaborates with the Program Director to develop and guide the programs, provides trainings, and fills in for Clinicians and Program Directors as needed.

B. QUALIFICATIONS and COMPETENCY FACTORS

  1. At least 2 years LCSW or MFT clinical licensure with a master’s degree in counseling, social work or psychology. Prior experience working in multicultural school settings preferred.
  2. Five years experience in clinical practice serving low-income, diverse ethnic communities.
  3. Experience supervising child and family clinical therapy. Prior experience in providing supervision of ASW and MFT Interns and working with or supervising multidisciplinary teams in a school/milieu setting. Familiarity with Special Education and ERMHS preferred.
  4. Completed BBS-approved coursework to offer clinical supervision. CAMFT supervisor certificate desired.
  5. Excellent supervisory, administrative, organizational, written and oral communication skills
  6. Experience with quality assurance monitoring of clinical charts. Familiarity with MediCal/EPSDT documentation preferred.
  7. Basic computer competency. Comfort using electronic health records.
  8. Language skills that include the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, and progress notes. Ability to speak effectively before groups including clinicians, teachers, parents.
  9. Ability to drive with valid driver's license, auto insurance, and access to use of an automobile as needed.

C. RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. In collaboration with Program Director, coordinate the development and implementation of mental health and casework modalities of the program.
  2. In collaboration with Program Director, responsible for training, supervision and evaluation of mental health staff
  3. In collaboration with Program Director, coordinate the intake and evaluation of youth referred for services. Work closely with community partners regarding placement, referrals, and other ancillary services.
  4. In collaboration with Program Director, coordinate the assessment, treatment planning and ongoing provision of mental health services for referred youth.
  5. In collaboration with Program Director, provide individual and group supervision to clinical staff, interns and trainees.
  6. Assess training needs of staff and help develop, secure and provide trainings, including selected evidence based practices as requested.
  7. Coordinate medication support services with EBAC contract psychiatrist, overseeing efficient scheduling, communication, parent participation and timely billing.
  8. Maintain relationships with graduate school site personnel in order to recruit interns/trainees and complete internship requirements and MOUs, as needed.
  9. 9. Attend EBAC, County, and community meetings and trainings related to mental health service delivery and funding streams as requested.
  10. Maintain compliance with State and local regulations, and with terms of contracts and grants, including EPSDT and ACBHCS contracts, school district MOUs, and CQRT requirements.
  11. Participate in team meetings (before and after school) to promote positive team dynamics and effective teamwork. Support the team in development of treatment plans and Positive Behavior and Intervention Support Plans.
  12. Work with the Administrative Assistant, Program Director and clinical staff to maximize generation of billing units for day treatment program attendance, family therapy services and medication support; EPSDT-related services, and school district MOUs and to accomplish timely billing.
  13. Oversee charts and participate in monthly ACBHCS CQRT meetings as needed. Maintain ongoing internal audit of clinical charts to assure compliance with all agency, contract, funding and privacy requirements.
  14. Observe and participate in milieu activities, provide staff coverage for clinicians or program directors as needed to meet ratios. Participate in direct crisis intervention services with youth in the milieu. Provide individual, group or family therapy services as needed. Attend IEPs and other school functions as requested.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.

D. WORKING CONDITIONS and JOB SETTING

  1. Work may be in a two-story building with stairs that need to be climbed for access to the second floor. Work is primarily in office, classroom, portables, and outdoor yard settings.
  2. Because work is directly with children and youth, full mobility is required for standing, walking, sitting, using hands, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
  3. Periodic lifting up to 25 pounds is required.
  4. Noise levels may be high at times.
  5. Must complete certification in nonviolent crisis intervention as provided by Crisis Prevention Institute, Inc.
