East Bay Agency for Children (EBAC) is dedicated to the health and educational well-being of children and families through specialized therapeutic, educational and peer support services.
With a staff of 150 and 200 volunteers, we serve 19,000 children, youth and families via 13 primarily school based programs throughout Alameda County
We are currently seeking an Assistant Director with experience in a nonprofit setting. This is a full time benefited position.
TITLE: Assistant Director-Circle of Care/PALS
ACCOUNTABILITY: Circle of Care/PALS Program Director

A. FUNCTION

The Assistant Director works in collaboration with the Circle of Care/PALS Program Director to manage the Circle of Care/PALS program. This position requires clinical and administrative supervision of staff, development and implementation of program procedures, management of clinical services, community outreach, fundraising, statistical reporting and partnership with schools and universities.

B. QUALIFICATIONS and COMPETENCY FACTORS

1. Possess a valid California Board of Behavioral Sciences/Board of Psychology Clinical License, plus 2 years experience required.
2. Demonstrated proficiency in leadership and of management responsibilities
3. At least three years prior experience in clinical supervision of mental health services for children and families in a multicultural setting
4. At least 5 years in providing high quality mental health services to children and families impacted by grief, illness and trauma in school and community settings.
5. Demonstrated proficiency in the integration of clinical and non-clinical support services.
6. Experience with grant writing and/or fundraising activities.
7. Ability to work cooperatively and independently in a multidisciplinary setting.
8. Valid driver's license in good standing and own auto insurance.
9. Language skills that include the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports, correspondence, and notes. Ability to speak effectively before groups of potential volunteers or staff.

 

C. RESPONSIBILITIES (Those with an asterisk are essential duties.)
1. Assist Program Director to develop, implement, direct, coordinate, and lead all aspects of the program in line with EBAC values and policies.
2. Oversight of program’s mental health service provision, including quality assurance, risk management, crisis intervention and staff training.
3. Manage and supervise, support and evaluate Clinical Program Coordinator and Clinical Supervisors. Provide supervision to clinicians/interns as needed.
4. Assists Program Director in hiring, evaluation and termination process of program staff.
5. Responsible to ensure accurate, timely and high quality charting procedures, in compliance with state and local regulations, terms of contracts, grant requirements, and with EBAC policies and procedures.
6. Responsible for coordination and oversight of Utilization Review process.
7. Responsible for monitoring billing unit and fee for service revenues and ensuring that they are maximized.
8. Develop, plan, coordinate and implement clinical trainings for Mental Health Clinicians, Practicum Interns, and Clinical supervisory staff.
9. Assist with fundraising activities, including but not limited to grant writing, strategic planning, donation solicitations/donor relations, reporting to funders, press events and mail appeals
10. Monitors, tracks, collects and reports evaluation and outcome data for grants and county contracts
11. Oversee and expand internship program. Build and maintain relationships with school based partners, practicum student and intern filed placement departments, community providers and referral sources.
12. Coordinate crisis intervention services as needed.
13. Attend and represent program and staff at relevant interagency, county and community meetings and training, related to program services delivery and funding streams.
14. Culturally informed management practices and sensitivity to children, families, and staff.
15. Performs other duties as assigned.
D. WORKING CONDITIONS and JOB SETTING

1. Work is in a routine office setting, with no special physical requirements, except the need to be mobile enough to climb one set of stairs to access the site.
2. Periodic lifting up to 25 pounds.
3. Periodic driving required.
